Buy The Rising Sun™ Redbud online. An extremely popular introduction, it's destined to light up the landscape with appealing, peach-colored heart-shaped leaves. This durable native small tree contributes brilliant, golden tangerine colored, heart-shaped foliage all summer with no burning, even in full sun. The Rising Sun™ Redbud is a vigorous grower with a full, rounded shape and stylishly holds its color into autumn. A third season of interest is provided in early spring by sweet pea-type flowers, rosy orchid in color. The flowers appear before the foliage in spring and are attractive to bees and butterflies. New foliage is a bright rosy-apricot; even the bark is a smooth tan with a yellowish cast, distinctive form other redbuds.
Family: Fabaceae · Common Name: Redbud
Redbud is a fascinating genus of small trees with several species and many varieties and cultivars. Native to the eastern and southern US, Redbuds are scattered throughout the countryside’s and are one of the first trees to flower in early spring, along with Dogwoods. Redbuds require well draining soil even to the point of being rocky. If planted in wet or poorly draining soils the trees will decline in health rather quickly. Best planted high and dry!

THE RISING SUN™ REDBUD Homeowner Growing & Maintenance Tips
Cercis is very easy to grow and adapts to most conditions. Feed once a year with a slow release fertilizer.
Interesting Notes About THE RISING SUN™ REDBUD
With a mature height of only 12 feet, The Rising Sun™ is perfect for smaller gardens and in-town neighborhoods as well as for specimen and accent plantings. "When I first saw this Redbud I went wild," said enthused grower Ray Jackson. "Fellow nurserymen have said it is the most outstanding golden Redbud they have ever seen, and I can attest it is vigorous in growth and very heat tolerant.

Love this tree!! Just as described. Grows fast. This is my second winter after planting and is still healthy. I love to look out my kitchen window to see the zig zag branches covered in snow. In spring the buds cover the tree. I sit on my patio in summer and admire the beauty of the leaves. I am thinking of planting more.

This tree has been wonderful since day one. It has been in my landscape for a year. Well packed when it arrived and in great shape. Once it was planted and got settled into its new home, the color in the leaves really began to show off. This tree is even more beautifu this year. Great product Sooner. Thanks for caring.

My tree arrived well packaged and in great condition. It has been planted and so far so good. This is my second purchase from Sooner Farms. Highly recommend!

The tree arrived healthy and has settled in well these past four months despite the intense heat of summer. Along with "Rising Sun," I ordered a "Burgundy Hearts" Redbud and they were shipped together in one long box. When they arrived, I was worried they might be damaged by the look of the box. The trees had their root pouches harnessed at opposite box ends and the tree tops slightly overlapped in the center. In this configuration, the weight is concentrated at the ends, putting pressure on the middle of the box and making it the weak point. By the time the box arrived, the middle had partly collapsed and folded. Both trees suffered some broken branches and lost a number of leaves at their tops (where the box creased), but ultimately looked like they were in decent shape once I got them out of the box. It's possible some jolt or impact during shipping caused the box failure, but regardless, it could have used some reinforcing in the middle. I've ordered six plants from Sooner and all have arrived healthy and looked like they had been well cared for.
