Buy Takeda Nishiki Variegated Japanese Summersweet online. Discovered on Shiko Island in Japan by Takeda Hisayoshi and his son, this Japanese summersweet is a large growing shrub that could possibly be classified as a multi-trunk tree. As the name applies, the leaves are green, pink, and white in color, and the white is splashed and streaked across each leaf, with some pink undertones mixed in. The summer months produce white panicle-shaped flowers that are fragrant, which is a great attractor of bees and butterflies. In winter, the exfoliating bark is hues of red, orange, and brown. An amazing specimen for the sunny landscape!
