I purchased 2 plants in the fall of '15, and they were nice specimens at delivery. Both shrubs had nice variegation as well, which is what drew me to this particular loropetalum. Both shrubs handled the mild winter we had in my heat zone of 8b and in the spring they began to grow. The new growth is solid dark purple, unlike the plant description that NEW growth will be varigated. It is now 4/30/16 and the new growth remains solid dark, with no hint of becoming variegated. I can only assume that these shrubs have already converted and in their 1st growing season, at that. Both plants did not bloom either.

As with all plants from Sooner Plant farm these bushes arrived in perfect condition. I ordered several verities of Loropetalum and this is among my favorite. I planted it in the fall as I do with all my bushes, as I live in zone 9A, and the summer heat is too hot. I love the variety of color in the leaves. It does take a little of time for the leaves to become that beautiful marbled effect, but when they do the bush is stunning. I ordered two in the past and will be ordering more this fall. This bush is more of a slow grower, but does grow in a nice mound shape.
